Basil and Strawberries are a Winning Combo
Basil in a smoothie? You bet! Strawberries and basil complement each other really beautifully. Add a little bit of sugar to the mix and you’ve got a prize winning combo. We added a peach base to this smoothie to amp up the flavor (and the color).

Double Layer Smoothies are Beautiful and Delicious
I love double layer smoothies. There is something about them that makes the smoothie-for-breakfast concept more enticing. I especially love them when the colors are bright and contrast each other. Single layer smoothies are still good – but double layer smoothies are far more fun to eat. Eat one layer first, get a bit of both in a bite or do what my husband does and mix it altogether (I have to remind him not to do this to my cold brew coffee + coconut milk in the morning, or I get a terrifyingly muddy coffee).
How to Make this Strawberry, Basil and Peach Smoothie
This recipe is rather quick and simple, so long as you don’t mind rinsing the blender out quickly. Just add the peach smoothie base ingredients and blend until smooth. Pour the peach smoothie ingredients in your glasses until they are about 3/4 full. Next, rinse out your blender and add the strawberry basil topper ingredients. Blend until smooth and then pour it over your peach base. Bam – you’ve got a beautiful and tasty breakfast or after school snack!
